Returns & Refunds Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

At Dress Me Up, we carefully inspect our products before they leave our store or fulfilment partner.

Unless you have a legal right to return an item, all sales are final and products are sold as seen.

1. Your Legal Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

If an item is faulty, not as described, or does not meet the requirements of UK consumer law, you may have a legal right to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy, depending on the circumstances.

2. Online Orders

For goods purchased online, you may have a statutory right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, even if the goods are not faulty.

Where this right applies, you must notify us within the applicable cancellation period and return the goods as required.

The goods must be returned in a condition that allows us to assess them. You may handle goods only as you would reasonably be permitted to do in a shop. We may be entitled to reduce a refund where the value of the goods has been diminished through handling beyond what is reasonably necessary.

The cost of returning goods under a change-of-mind cancellation is normally the customer's responsibility, unless we have agreed otherwise or the law requires us to pay it.

3. Items Excluded From Change-of-Mind Returns

Certain products may not carry a statutory cancellation right.

This can include:

  • Personalised or custom-made items;

  • Goods made to your specific requirements;

  • Sealed goods which cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, where the applicable legal exemption applies; and

  • Other goods falling within a statutory exception to the right to cancel.

Where an exemption applies, the product listing or checkout information will make this clear before purchase.

4. Wedding Dresses & In-Store Purchases

Wedding dresses are collection only.

Where a wedding dress or other product is purchased in person at our boutique, there is no general statutory right to return simply because you have changed your mind.

Our products are sold as seen, subject to your statutory rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.

We strongly recommend that you inspect and try on garments before completing an in-store purchase.

Once a garment has been altered, modified or otherwise changed at your request, this may affect the remedies available to you where the issue relates to those alterations.

5. Sale, Clearance & Sample Items

Sale, clearance, sample and discounted items are sold as seen, with any known faults, marks, wear or imperfections identified to you before purchase.

A customer cannot claim a product is faulty because of a defect or condition that was clearly brought to their attention before purchase.

However, sale or reduced-price goods still have statutory rights where applicable. A discount does not remove your legal rights.

6. Lingerie

Lingerie is dispatched by our third-party fulfilment partner.

For hygiene reasons, sealed lingerie products must not be returned after the relevant hygiene seal or packaging has been opened where the statutory hygiene exemption applies.

This does not affect your rights if the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

7. Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you believe an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible at:

hello@dressmeup.uk

Please provide your order details and, where appropriate, photographs of the issue.

We will assess the issue and advise you of the appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

8. Refunds

Where a refund is legally due, we will process it using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

For cancelled online orders, refunds will be made within the applicable legal timeframe.

Where you have chosen a more expensive delivery service than our standard delivery option, we are generally only required to refund the cost of the standard delivery service.

10. Final Sale

Except where a customer has a statutory right to cancel, return, repair, replace or receive a refund, all sales are final and goods are sold as seen.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be limited or excluded under UK law.
